The owners of this European home are regular readers of Signature Kitchens & Baths. Their inspiration for their kitchen make-over came from a picture in the magazine, They saw the combination of impeccable design, detail and quality product they wanted for their own newly designed kitchen space.

The home designers' first idea was to increase the amount of natural light in the room by increasing the width of the window over the sink. Although the client wanted to eliminate the back door to maximize cabinet space, the decision to add a window resulted in giving the space more character and placing more emphasis on the custom wood hood. Realizing the corner spaces do not make ideal task areas, the designers planned for corner cabinets that come to the counter. These make up for storage space eliminated by the addition of a second window, while increasing functionality.
Warming the look of the modern kitchen, hardwood floors and a beadboard ceiling were installed. New appliances by Bosch, Viking, Sub-Zero and Kitchen contribute more ease of function. Sleek black granite countertops give a luxurious and polished look.

The clients brought to the table their own exceptional taste in paint colors and decorating accents. Working closely with the designers, they helped to create their own supremely functional and beautiful kitchen, a space that shows how a consistency in detail, balance and creative interpretations can surpass everyone's initial expectations.
